Investigator. Nai stands as the proud owner of Shadowbox Inquiries, an office offering investigation services. One of only two employees operating out of a small office, she is known to take on strange, dangerous cases. Missing persons? Suspicious activity in a given area? Cloaked figures hanging around and you don’t know why? She’ll eagerly take it on, having an insatiably curious eye (Read: She’s nosy). Does it matter if it’s a good idea or not? Not so much. The woman may seem like she’s in over her head, but she’s quite capable in her work.Kitschy Supernatural Tabloids. In her free time, Nai is the author of a tabloid-esque ‘news’ magazine focused on matters of the strange and supernatural known as Occult Fan. Maybe your character has read it; perhaps as a fan, hater, or otherwise. The woman behind the publication is easy enough to find.Storyteller. Nai carries a lifelong passion for myth and folklore. Carrying an almost encyclopedic level of knowledge of fictional creatures and rituals, her expertise comes in handy on the job and during her free time. Give her half an ear and she’ll talk it right off with tales of mystical beings and stories of old. Or, perhaps, one might find her knowledge useful for other means.Suspicious Sigils. Though she tries to avoid using it as a crutch or in front of ordinary people, Nai is the practitioner of a unique form of sigil magic utilizing her own blood as a casting medium. Use of this art varies from conjuring traps of thorny vines to crafting tiny golems of mud and moss. While she is proud to call this art her own, it serves as a reminder of her place; integrated with the world, yet apart from it.
